In 2015, Dartmouth's Jeremy DeSilva, associate professor of anthropology, was part of the international team that unearthed more than 1,600 fossils of a new human ancestor in South Africa—an unprecedented discovery that expanded the knowledge of our early ancestors.
Now, Dartmouth on Location invites you to join Dartmouth alumni, family, and friends for an exclusive event featuring a talk by Professor DeSilva on February 10, 2018 at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. The evening will feature a reception as well as a chance to explore the museum’s exhibits. Stay tuned for more event details.
If you can’t join us in San Francisco, or want to learn more about our early ancestors, Professor DeSilva will also be teaching Bipedalism: The Science of Upright Walking starting September 26. This free online course will explore how upright walking evolved and why. For questions on the course, please contact DartmouthX@Dartmouth.edu.
